Complaints

Whenever you have a concern or complaint, it is vital that you contact us so that we can act swiftly to sort out any problems. Complaints should first be made to the Tutor or Head of Year. If you are not satisfied with the response you should contact the Headteacher directly who will investigate the situation and reply. If you are still not satisfied you should contact the Chair of Governors at the school.

Attendance
It is essential that children attend school regularly if they are to ‘be the best they can’. We encourage good attendance and we reward students who attend regularly.

If a student is absent we require a telephone call on the first morning of the absence. We try to telephone home on the first day of absence for every child to find out where they are. We would like a written note when the child returns. If we do not receive a note, we will contact you by letter. If a student has a long-term illness we will provide work to be completed at home.

Although we appreciate that it is sometimes unavoidable, we strongly discourage family holidays being taken during school time. An official LEA holiday form, asking for permission, must be completed in advance of the holiday. Only ten days holiday may be taken in school-time each year. Additional holidays are recorded as unauthorized absence.
